4th Grade - Mr. Rosen

Course Description

Fourth grade, the beginning of what is labeled the “upper grades,” is a time of tremendous adjustments. The transition to nightly homework, for example, requires students to be much more responsible and independent. This is also the first year that a child will experience a much larger class load of up to 33 students, which means less individual time with the teacher and more time spent in independent research and study activities. Reading expectations are also higher, as students shift from “learning to read” to “reading to learn,” which means much greater emphasis on comprehension and self-directed learning. My goal is that each student will excel to his or her greatest ability throughout the year.

This is going to be a great year and I am looking forward to working with your child and getting to know him or her better throughout the year. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via email at [email protected] or at the school (951-253-7480).
