WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump called upon all Americans to observe Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15 and Police Week, May 12-18, with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
Governors are directing government agencies to fly the United States and state flags at half-staff on Wednesday, May 15. Citizens are encouraged to do the same at their homes and businesses, in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
The annual North Dakota Peace Officers Memorial ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, on the east side of the state Capitol’s judicial wing in Bismarck. In Minnesota, agencies will stand watch at the Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial Monument on the state Capitol grounds for 24 hours starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
